A new addition, in search of my pen

Hi, my name is Kristin, I'm new to mamaphonic. I'm 20 years old and mama to a year old bilingual babe and step-mama to a fashion-crazed six year old. I'm stepping into mamaphonic in an attempt to recconect with my writer-self, who has been hibernating since, oh, around the time I began to wake up six times a night to urinate during pregnancy.

Considering that I'm mildly addicted to mama forums and the like, this may be a step further from real-life writing rather than towards it, but one can hope for the best. I look forward to getting to know some inspiring artist-mamas around here.

when i first came here (eons ago, it seems, when my dd was 1.5 and now she's a whopping, talkative, argumentative, starting-to-be-literate 5 y/o), i read through all the calls for submissions and used those as my starting point for writing. It really made me start writing and with an actual goal in mind as opposed to writing just for me to bury in my bookshelves like I had done pre-mamahood.

And the mamas here are great about feedback if there's something you're stuck on.

Here's hoping motivation strikes. I've been on this site for a long time, and for most of that time I was just treading water, mostly posting in 300 Words. When something finally did move, the fact that I'd stayed "limber" by writing here as much as possible made it much easier for me to take inspiration and run with it.

Plus, reading about stuff that other mamas do is so much fun!
