Allied Media Conference 2006 in Bowling Green OH - June 23-25i've never made it out to one of these, but it sure does sound cool... aside from the Portland Zine Fest, i think it's one of the biggest events in the country for zines and other indie media. ------------------------------------- The 8th annual Allied Media Conference: June 23-25, 2006 For all you new and returning supporters of the Allied Media Conference, this is our first request to make AMC 2006 the most engaging and productive event of the year. How do we construct popular media projects that effectively build grassroots power and advance The Allied Media Conference 2006 will bring together some of the most innovative and visionary culture producers, media workers, artists and activists to probe these and other critical questions. Together, we will share skills and ideas and build new networks for organization and support. The conference features hands-on workshops, group discussions, film screenings, artist presentations, a large exhibition hall to share your work, and a whole day for educators to learn how to use independent media in the classroom. Set in a small, midwest town, it's also a space to strengthen our community, meet new people, and enjoy each other's company.
