hello,
i did my first public reading of my new solo piece "this is fiction". it is not a linear narrative, but begins at the end and then goes to the beginning. the story is loosely based on my experience being manic and undiagnosed in NYC.
i have gotten some excellent feedback about making some clearer choices, peeling back here and there, but setting the characters up better (the non-hospitalized ones).
anyhow, i would love to send the script to anyone who might have some time to check it out and ask questions, make comments and give feedback. the script is about 20 pages. if you think you would be interested please message me and i'll email you the script. but i would really really appreciate your help, working out many many kinks in the project.
i've got alot to consider and work on. but it begins with 'discussing' it with others. the main problem being that, i know the story and the events, and i need to rework parts where the audience is not engaged or prepared to follow who/what i am talking about.
best piece of feedback today "you need to be a responsible tour guide. don't assume the audience knows anything."
so that is step one.
