Walking Down a Busy Street Alone by Nanette Guadiano-Campos

My hand rolls the skin of my belly
Like a ball of masa
Over then under
Then over
My breasts swing
Like a pendulum
When I walk
Left
Right
Then left again
I hear a baby cry
And my breasts
Harden like clay
Ready to feed
A mouth that isn’t mine
