zine workshop/presentation

so i am presenting a workshop on zinemaking and giving a presentation of the basic idea of zine culture and zine history. too, particularly women zinesters and feminist zines/zinesters.
the presentation is in nov so i have some time to gather resources and do my research. i'm in contact with the ESPA here, who maintains an extensive zine collection, so hopefully they will be helpful to me in this respect as well...but a point in any direction would be great. links, books, people to contact or learn about...
and help would be much appreciated.

a while back, matt holdaway

a while back, matt holdaway (a multitude of voices) was teaching a workshop and put together a syllabus of sorts. honestly i haven't read through the whole thing, so i don't know if any of it will be helpful for your specific purposes, but it's online here:

I wanted to share that dd has been asked

to do a zine writing workshop - at her old middle school! and be paid for it!

She bumped into her old teacher and was telling her all about the zine thing, having a zine, selling zines at gatherings, writing a column for broken pencil

damn, my daughter zine carear this year is going places, nice to know that zines can do that for a person, they can do alot actually.

didnd't see your pm til now...

When I was writing my thesis

When I was writing my thesis i went on www.grrrlzines.net a lot- there's also a ton of links there. The editor of that site also has written some scholarly articles on the feminist zine movement and i could email the references to you if you want. The film '$100 and a tshirt' about zines in the pacific northwest is good, it's available at micrcocosm.com. i used one academic book in my thesis, Stephen Duncombe, "Notes from the underground: Zines and the politics of alternative culture," Verso, 1997. It's pretty dated but still good.
