Kentucky anyone? Artist enrichment program for women: deadline 7 Sept 2007!

Kentucky Foundation for Women Accepting Applications for
Artist Enrichment Program

Deadline: September 7, 2007

The mission of the Kentucky Foundation for Women
( http://www.kfw.org/ ) is to promote positive social change
by supporting varied feminist expression in the arts. Each year
the foundation awards a total of $200,000 to feminist artists
and social change organizations in Kentucky through two grant
programs: Artist Enrichment and Art Meets Activism.

The foundation is accepting applications for the 2007 Artist
Enrichment program.

The primary goal of the program is to provide opportunities
for feminist artists and arts organizations to enhance their
abilities and skills to create art for positive social change.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate their commitment to
feminism and their understanding of the relationship between
art and social change. Applicants may request funds for a
range of activities, including artistic development, artist
residencies, the exploration of new areas or techniques, and
the creation of new art. (Please note: Artists or organizations
whose projects directly involve social change or community
engagement should apply for the Art Meets Activism grant. App-
lication forms for that program will be available by January 1,
2008; the deadline will be March 7, 2008.)

Individual artists and organizations based in Kentucky may
apply. For the purposes of this grant, an individual artist
is defined as anyone who is creating strong or highly original
artwork. Organizations must be non-business entities who are
engaging in an artist-centered project.

Grants range from $1,000 to $7,500 each, with the typical grant
award ranging between $3,000 and $5,000 each.
