mamaphiles 3 wants you

mamaphiles 3 is off to a great start. I have several incredible essays (prob 10 or so) and they are beautiful, very deep sometimes so sad they've made me cry. Who knew Coming Home would evoke this? But we need more, more more more! I don’t care that it’s late or even if you aren’t done with your piece, but are planning on writing one, just shoot me an email so I know corbinlew@clearwire.net Thanks

thanks for the update! Muffy is in the hospital for benign tumour (?) and she has ideas and wants to still write and I will keep checking in.

I was struck with a sudden revelation and came here to post: WE MUST, we must, have a complete listing of all mama and papa zines in the index, even if they haven't contributed, we need to bust their asses to send in a short zine bio and ordering info of their zine.

I just got an email from an isolated mama in florida who picked up my zine-book and found it a sudden revelation that she was not alone and asked me to reccomend any other mama zine stuff. I said, "well mamaphonic.com is a place to go and find others". Realizing this, the power of having an updated digest of whats going on, I feel we need to have a total listing (as much as we can) of whats out there to help spread the word.

what do yall think?

i'm all for that. i've often thought of having that be part of the mamaphiles website, too.

it's just hard to keep up with all the changes. not that that means we shouldn't do it! just that it's always going to be imperfect because as soon as we put it together someone will move or change email addresses or whatever and it will be out of date.

but yeah.

you know, I change my mind

you know, I change my mind about that "must" = paper costs! I don't think we should have a complete index in the paper zine, of ALL mama/papa zines even if they didn't submit. BUT like you said, its a very good idea for the website.

TENDERFOOT - do you still have all the emails you send out the call for submissions too? Could you do a "last call for mamaphiles" and send out Corbins post above.

Has anyone talked to HausFrau lately about illustrating the cover? where is that at?
