me and China at Ladyfest Baltimore this weekend (April 13th, 2008)!!SUNDAY, APRIL 13 *Feminist Family Indoor Picnic at 2640* Bring your lunches (potluck/picnic style) and the whole family to have fun with hoola hooping, crafts, live music and more! (Childcare starts up at 1pm, and goes until 6!) Hooping Revolution! (with Noelle aka "Strange Powers") Plant Walk (with Betsy Merbitz) Goddess Crafts (with LadyFest volunteers) - - - 1pm .. 150pm *Don't Leave your Friends Behind: Anarcha-Feminism & Supporting Mothers and Children* When a radical woman becomes a mother she often finds herself left behind by her mostly childless peer group. The subculture and activist world often mimic the greater society's unreasonable expectations of mothers and children. Let's learn how to work together in new ways. This will be a discussion between both parents and non-parents, on concrete ways childfree allies can support mothers and children in their community. Good for everyone! Vikki Law is a writer, mother and photographer. She is the author of many zines and co-edits "Tenacious: Art and Writing from Women in Prison" and is currently working on a book about resistance among incarcerated women.
