because i have to brag about the pixies!x-posted from LJ/manic panic...the world muist know 'i've got no lips i've got no tongue' the intial crowd (200-300) stormed the place. i nearly got trampled on my way up the stairs, buy the people rushing down. i started yelling "you fuckers, get outta my way, don't fuckin kill me!" and they all start trying to slow down and avoid me, but it was scary, they were going so fast. it was kinda funny, only cause i didn't get taken out. all these jerks stroning down the stairs going "oh shiit, sorry, whoops". the opening band was a local act "the floor" they are tight, regardless i don't like them. they are too 80's new wave for me. i didn't like it then, i don't like it now. they use the same effects on every song. they dragged. but kudos to them! finally the pixies came on around 10. they played a great set, of course. kim screwed up on gigantic. joey and dave rocked out! frank milked the love of the crowd to the last drop. they played one encore and some loser rushed the stage and put his arm around frank during 'where is my mind?' frank was visbly pissed off. security got him off. i think that asshole lost our chances of a second encore. this set list looks right to me, i found it on the frank black website/forum. the show rocked. no words. i am still shaking. seriously. i treid going to bed, but i am twitching. Dead In Heaven --> Wave of Mutilation (Suef) i loved the drunken old hardcore punk lady stading behind me, she kept screamin 'muthafucka!" after every song. it was hilarious. at first weird, but after the 30th time, i was nearly crying laughing. it sorta freaked me out a bit at first when she was leaing on me for 5 minutes, and not noticing. and she was behind me so i didn't know if she was a beligerent drunk asshole. but she turned out to just be this loud old punk. she was cool. i loved watching the crowd dig the show as much as me. i loved watching the guys crowd surfing, and the crowd bouncing. it seems like it has been forever since i was at a show where people were attempting to mosh/pogo. a few girls had to be rescued from the front row by the bouncers, they were getting crushed. my favorite was seeing the big bouncers catch the guys in their arms. the place was completely sold out (duh) and the livedisk recording pre-sold before teh opening band, but darcy got a copy! i got a shirt. i recognized a few people i knew. some kids from jr. high school. an old boyfriend, the one who made me meorize his favortie soccer players names, and the teams they played for (liverpool football club: never walk alone) the guy who told me he'd kick me in the face if i made fun of his football. ths one who told me i was a priority listed below, football, friends, and beer. lovely meories of him...yeh. and i have to say RIP monkey. i know you were there with me...am i the only one in the world that cries when they hear that song? and i think of you. i miss you. i hope i can get some sleep, you are invading my thoughts. 'cease to resist, saying my goodbyes" this monkey's gone to heaven. By chocobotkid at 04/19/2004 - 8:03am | What Are You Listening To? | previous forum topic | next forum topic
