mailing question

Has anyone ever had a problem mailing their zines without an envelope? I know I have received plenty like this, no problem, but I mentioned that i was going to mail this batch out this way (sticking the open side closed) and she thought it might get mangled in the post office machines.
any thoughts?
thanks,
Chester

what about staples? I wonder

what about staples? I wonder if there is something against stapling things closed as apposed to using tape...

hmmm

I guess staples would work but I would worry about the zine getting damaged when the staple got pulled out, though I guess the damage would be minor. hmmmm.

i do this (except for canada)

i do this (except for canada) and as far as i know it works out fine...although i'm sure there is the occasional mangled one. it definitely helps to have a cardstock cover.

i have sent and received many

i have sent and received many zines this way. i don't know...i guess it's an "at your own risk" venture, some do get fairly beat up and others come through fine. i would suggest two stickers or pieces of tape (or whatever you're using) on each open side.
