peekaboo: hello

hello, i'm new and wanted to say hi to the wonderful people who seem to exist on this site. I started to enjoy writing not but two years ago when I retook an english class that i dropped four years before. i've come here to be inspired, to learn and practice writing. I find it hard to write if I don't have some sort of deadline or an authority figure giving me a writing distination. I would like to write more on a whim. On other forums I wouldn't feel able to write how i felt, i want to feel comfortable and able to say what the hell I want.
Thanks...looking forward to reading and writing more

I wanted to shout out, ladi

I wanted to shout out, ladies, my appreiation for such a warm welcoming and also that the fact is, I do feel real comfortable here- what a relief- I would really like to do another journal post today, maybe later, when i feel the house won't be torn up in the process by a bored, yet adventurous boy. Thanks again, and have a spooky weekend...Kaystar

hello

i just read your 300 words and wondered who you were. I liked it. so Hello! yea - be free. write and be free. hang your litterary butt out the window and moon the moon if you want. sometimes i do.

300 words

Welcome.

300 words is a good place to start for writing on a whim. Sometimes when I write there, I'm more in the mood to write other things that I"ve been putting off.

What was the English class that you took again?

Thanks for the reply, tenderf

Thanks for the reply, tenderfoot. I would like to start off in baby steps, which forum do you recommend? I could start in the 300 words and try to do the journal or the poetry one. Thanks again and I look forward from hearing from you around the forums.

wherever you feel called to j

wherever you feel called to jump on in, go ahead and do so, definitely. one of the nice things about 300 words is it can push you into getting into a writing habit, that whole "show up at the page" every day kind of thing. another nice thing (especially for those just starting out and/or folks that are very sensitive to any feedback or criticism) is that no one will comment on it!

but hey, yeah, if you find yourself with a poem or a different kind of piece, feel free to post it in the other forums, too. :) it's pretty laid-back here.
