the girlmom project

well, in it's 7th draft now, and ever evolving...i am getting very excited to be presenting a portion at the mamagathering.
still waiting to hear back from ladyfest bay area. and a local festival for emerging artists.

today "Girl-Mom" was

today "Girl-Mom" was presented in Toronto at Hysteria Festival, north america's largest multi-disciplinary festival of work by women.
we had a pack (but small) house, and were well recived.
there were 19 actors!!!!
i'm so proud.
can't wait for cleveland!

the Girl-Mom Play has been

the Girl-Mom Play has been accepted into "Hysteria: A Festival of Women" in Toronto. A staged reading will be presented on October 29th!!!!!!!

the five minutes I heard

were great! (I think I started to tell you this that night, but got dragged off by my cranky toddler)

Anyone have a videotape of the entire reading so I can see it without the distraction of a very garrulous three-year-old?

yeah, i was bummed that having a vendor table meant i couldn't really hear *any* of what went on in the front of the space. :( i wish i had known ahead of time that that was going to be the case.

did you get good feedback on it?

i got a bit of feedback. so many people had left by then. i think many people missed it. but i felt so great doing it with my girlmoms, and TRULA! who saved the day!
there are some great pics. i'll post tommorrow.

Chocobotkid, it was my pleasure. Reading that play brought up a lot of memories for me from when I was a teen mama. It meant a lot to me to be a part of the reading at the Gathering.

we had a reading for the 'pla

we had a reading for the 'play' the other day. i was sooooooo scared. really more nervous than i had ever been in my life.
but it went fantastically!
i got some excellent feedback and even garnered some interest from a local theater company, to present further readings...
very exciting stuff.

I just remembered that July sunsets this far North don't happen till around 10ish, so let's just say dusk, lol
