DIY punk

Right now, dd and I are listening to snippets of World Inferno Friendship Society off the Internet. I just saw them today at the DIY community arts center I volunteer at (after not seeing them since my childless days) and they're still awesome.

dd didn't want to go into the show space, even with her earplugs in so she stayed upstairs and played with someone else while I took pictures and danced on a crate. (Yeah, I can be silly)

I just played one of their songs (the one about the pumpkins that the singer used to preface it with a big thing about the Great Pumpkin) and she at first smiled and exclaimed, "Too silly!"

Now she's demanding "Pumpkin again! Pumpkin again!" Guess Im gonna have to buy the CD.

Last week, it was Citizen Fish, whom I had never seen (or even heard before) with Mamaphiles mama Jessica Mills playing sax with them (and if they ever come to your town with her on sax, you *must* go see them. Be prepared to sweat buckets and dance!)
