It's just a way to keep track of posters that you want to see, kind of like a very limited friends list on livejournal. I think there's a limit to ten? friends? If you click on someone's profile, there's an option of add to friends list? Click on that and you're golden.

i don't think there's a limit. i think i've added more than 10 already. :) i think the whole buddy thing is kinda silly (at this kind of forum-based board anyway), and yet somehow that doesn't seem to have stopped me from adding folks!
