Writing Mama

One more mama

Just wanted to say hello. I'm another mama joining mamaphonic. I wrote a poem on mamaphonic a while ago and have since taken a break from writing. But I'm starting over, and have acquired a new username here on mamaphonic. I've gone from hippiemama to bohemiangirl. Bohemiangirl describes me better, as I don't quite fit into the hippie mold completely. There is a little hippie in me, signified by long, flowing skirts, an affection for this beautiful earth, and a certain nostalgia for my old pot-smoking days...

Baby/Child Sleep Study - survey respondents needed

Hi there,

I am taking the lemons of my daughter's sleepless first year and making lemonade. I am conducting a research study about babies/children and sleep. If you have a child age 5 and under, please take my survey. Data will be compiled and (hopefully) published in a book. Click on or paste the link below into your browser.

Are these sentences grammatical? And if not, could you rewrite for me or explain what wrong inside is? Please

I proposed that Mr. Hitachi be launched to the job, only a veteran in this field can finish a wrought task.
When my boss proposed holding a powwow on the prairie, no one objects him.
My advice to him not to serenading on the balcony was for the best, the neighbors were all reposed that time.

Submission and editing question

I have a question that maybe some of you published mamas can answer. I submitted a piece to Real Moms Speak and the editor got back to me saying this:

"I am going to post a new set of sample answers to the question "How has motherhood changed you?" on the Real Moms Speak website (www.RealMomsSpeak.com). I'd like to use your response on the site. Though this doesn't guarantee that your submission will be used for the book, it does mean that I've found your response to be insightful and will strongly consider it.

The Resilient Writer - book on rejection

MFA

Hi - My name is Jennifer and I'm new to this site - hoping you can help me with a choice I'm trying to make. I am a 31 yr. old mama of one 3 yr old. I'm currently working on a graduate degree (an MA) in creative writing (non-fiction thesis, memoir)& need to decide what to do next. I have an undergrad in speech-language pathology and worked in this field for 9 years before deciding to take writing more seriously. Now that I have, I don't ever want to stop. I have always written, but in the past, have pursued "safer" degrees/occupations. My heart says I need to figure out a way to support myself and family and keep the writing.
