At home, I can't post, but at my work computer I can. When I found out Nicole/ Hausfrau editor could log in and post either, I emailed Susan. She said they hadn't heard from others who had this problem yet, but sometimes people don't speak up. It seems to be a systems operating problem (?) (my computer at home is on old windows) and they will look into it. Nicole still can't log in and post - so I just wanted to start a thread for this problem.

Why is there a SEX thread I don't have access to?

Maybe this is a boon to employers everywhere, but neither China nor I can use "Chat." I type in things and they don't appear on the screen even though it says I am logged in and IN the chatbox.

Anyone else have this problem?

Bee's wanting to know if she should make up a batch of stuff for mamaphonic (no, I don't actually have any other details, likely along the lines of stuff we've had before but NEW! BETTER! NOW SHINIER!)... I think we've had stuff along the lines of t-shirts, totes & stuff.

There are some server issues with our provider which we were warned may cause some data loss if there's a server failure. It would be a good idea if there's something here that you don't want to lose to make a backup/copy of it (this is a good idea in any case & now is a fabulous time to take care of it as part of a regular thing). I've noticed all our sites are up & down right now -- so hopefully if you have something to save, you'll be able to do it before there's a (potential) catastrophic failure.

Hey folks--

Lynn here, your hipMama family of websites techMama. I'm about to start the upgrade process for Mamaphonic. This means things will be wonky for a bit, "a bit" being possibly through Saturday, though I'm expecting less turbulence than that. I will let you know when is a good time to start submitting bug reports (hint: not yet :) ).

Why this needs to happen: The software running hipMama (Drupal) has gone through several updates since this site went live and we're woefully behind. Bee wants to add several new features and she can't until I update the underlying software. Things will work pretty much the way they do now, but things won't look exactly the same.

Can't add a new comment on 300 words

I log on to mamaphonic. I click on forums. I click on 300 words...then the most recent topic and then, here's the problem, I get the log in prompt again. So i log in. I click on forums. I click on 300 words, etc. I can go anywhere else on the forums and add a new comment except for 300 words. Waah! Does this mean it's time to start a new topic, like for April or something? It's only at 40, though.

Upgrading Servers!

Ooy! I just found out (well, yesterday? maybe?) that we're upgrading the servers and we're doing it NOW! I don't know if Mamaphonic has been hit by some of the wonkiness, but hipmama's been hit lately by really heavy traffic from search engines and it's been staggering under the weight of all the hits... so I guess we're upgrading and upgrading PRONTO!

In other news, I have 11 weeks & well...

Ok I don't want to sound like an ingrate or a pest, but what is the status of getting new stories up in real voices? it seems like this place would feel more alive if there were regular updates. i mean here's a whole community of creative women producing work on a regular basis. i want to read what others are doing! i want to see those mamaphonic book essays!
