It's the beginning of "The Party" Competition at Filmaka! Make a 1-3 film on this theme and you could win funding to direct your feature film! The competition is judged by esteemed international filmmakers Werner Herzog, Zak Penn, Colin Firth, Paul Schrader, and more! Each month there is a new theme and 15-20 filmmakers receive $1500-$4500. Three of them go on to compete for feature funding at the end of the year.

Expozine, Montreal’s annual small press, comic and zine fair, will take place on Saturday, November 29 and Sunday, November 30, 2008, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 5035 St-Dominique (Église Saint-Enfant Jésus, between St-Joseph and Laurier, near Laurier Métro). Free admission.

come see me, the mama calendar, new issues of once upon a photobooth & the future generation, & ye olde mamaphiles #3 at the new orleans bookfair this weekend! I'll be housed (at the mamaphiles table) in d.b.a., and the kid's space is split in two locations - outdoors with a bouncey castle and story fort on the corner of frenchmen & chartres, and indoors with zine making, book making, animation, dress up & other cool activities down frenchmen at the hookah cafe.
